"Since Lost Ark launched, we've been Lost Ark Gold fighting against the bots infiltrating Arkesia," Amazon dramatically wrote. "Addressing bots is especially challenging in free-to-play games because it's easy to sign up for an account and play the game. However, we're working on multiple fronts to defeat the bots."

In addition to imposing bans, Amazon states that it's attempted to minimize the negative impact on bot accounts it has yet to hit.

The steps taken to tackle the problem include changes to reward levels for quests and events to discourage bots from mining gold, and the addition of both Easy Anti Cheat and the game's own native detection and reporting systems in order to improve the speed of response for bad actors.

Amazon has also level-gated chat to prevent brand-new accounts from that are spamming ads, and also updated the game's automatic chat moderation with the most current gold seller buzzwords.

A few fans have suggested some fans have called for a Captcha system or mandatory two-factor authentication for sign-ins however Amazon has said these are not included in the cards.

"These tools will require a significant architecture and platform changes to implement for Lost Ark," Amazon wrote. "Real-world identification of the account owner is another method used in certain regions, however the massive scale in that Western versions of the game and the differing laws within the areas where we operate Lost Ark make this a more difficult option for us.
